F Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby was published on the 10th of April 1925 — so its centenary was Thursday. There won’t be many bigger anniversaries for presently active literateurs. So the thrilling commission I had from the mighty
for his brave new magazine put me in the mix with all the big names.So I was really pleased to feel the sentences, and more vitally the emotions, were coming off. Not to be dramatic, but I won’t see two hundred!
